Yesterday I was in a situation where this word 'opportunist' came into my mind. It's weird in the sense that how can a nice positive word like 'opportunity' be turned into another with the connotation of something so negative and 'evil'.But then, looking at the situation that I witnessed yesterday, that word actually suits the situation, action and person.
Out of curiousity, I looked up three sources to see how the word 'opportunist' would be explained. ....and it certainly fits the image that I have in mind
American Heritage Dictionary

Opportunism
the practice or policy of adapting one's actions, judgments, etc. to circumstances, in order to further one's immediate interests, without regard for basic principles or eventual consequences
- An opportunist can be unscrupulous, He/she would take advantage of a situation or person without any second thought and you can be sure that the objective of the action is usually, if not always, dubious !
- So my friends, always be wary of the situation and environment around you and keep your eyes opened for an opportunist may be lurking to take advantage for his/her own end.
It amuses me no end to see the role-play and stage acting - but then I had the advantage of not being one of the actors in this scam ! Just outside looking in ! hahahahah ! The mind boggles !
