Jalan Raja Chulan

There's this row of old abandoned houses. A few years ago, graffitists used to display their art on the side wall of this old building. But now, even that is gone.

Some terrific photos here. You really capture the textures and the flaky pastel shades of old buildings, and the reflections of the modern are nicely framed! George Rollmop

Thanks Georgie ! I'm going to one of no. 19 this week end so your front neighbour would just have to tolerate me with the tri-pod stand at the car park !

Your photos of the old buildings...they preserve the old architectural styles that are no more. I was searching for an old hotel I stayed at near Karyneka on Jln Raja Chulan in 1996, but I guess it is gone too. It had a beautiful garden with a Malay style architecture, all teak columns and floors. The dining rooms were open to the garden, and so lovely. Thanks so much for your pictures!

Bryan : Thank you for your comment and the interesting factf on the old hotel. Unfortunately, this building would probably be demolished to make way for some high rise office space or plush condominiums. Reading your description of the old hotel saddens me somewhat because I am sure it would have been a lovely subject ..Thanks again.
