The Cost of Cheating.

OK--in answer to the query on the punishment meted out to offenders that is made in a comment by a member of the community.....

I asked the Programme Manager and here is the answer.

First Offence
RM100 fine
To take re-exam of the subject.
.
Second Offence
RM200 fine
To take re-exam of the subject.
I hope that answers your question. Whether its too light or too heavy a punishment--I leave it to your opinion !

the punishment is quite light compare to our local public university.. however i think, it gives the wrongdoer second chance rather than just expel them from the college..

I spoke to the programme manager of that person concerned and was surprised that I allowed the student to continue the exam.

I told him I have my reasons although, according to the procedure, THE STUDENT IS SUPPOSED TO BE SENT TO THE OFFICE IMMEDIATELT TO ANSWER THE CHARGES.

I agree and was surprised to find that out. I know in most countries, it would be dismissal and also banned from enlisting in any other institution for a fixed number of years.

Oh well....
